Roll Top Shield

This shield has been designed to accommodate and shield horizontal and vertical Germanium Detectors.  The Dewar is placed below the shield and the Detector is inserted thru a 3-1/4" opening in the floor.  For horizontal Detectors we can provide the shield with a 3-1/4" opening on the side.  Other configurations can be used with small modifications upon request at nominal cost.

Standard size units have  4" steel or lead walls.  Optional  liners;   copper, tin,  and stainless steel are available.  The Roll Top door rolls on ball bearing stainless steel wheels and tracks.

The outside of the shield is covered with a scuff resistant low level paint.  All material is tested for radioactivity and is guaranteed for low level steel or lead.  Various sample supports are available upon request.
